Design-Driven HVAC Solutions at CMPX 2026

INNOVA CMPX 2026
As Canada’s premier event for mechanical systems professionals, CMPX 2026 attracts thousands of contractors, engineers, architects, and building owners seeking the latest technologies to meet evolving energy codes and design demands.

We just got back from CMPX 2026, and it marked an important milestone for INNOVA. Beyond just being our largest showcase in Canada to date, the conversations with engineers, developers, contractors, and partners revealed an ongoing need: The fundamentals of HVAC need a reboot.

We’re moving past the era of only focusing on “specs”. On the show floor, we wanted to focus on how these systems connect into the built world. It’s about efficiency, design, and sustainability.

At INNOVA, we’ve set our expectations high as we contribute to the overall design and performance of a building.

How Does AI Fit?

“AI” is the buzzword trending everywhere, and is becoming pretty unavoidable as it creeps into our everyday lives. What does that look like for HVAC? It’s about designing HVAC systems to deliver air intelligently and respond in real time.

When you are smarter about how air is delivered, you’re not just moving air – you’re controlling a space. That’s where solutions like OKKI got so much attention this year. By using SmartJet airflow technology, OKKI delivers conditioned air directly to where people are, we’re eliminating stratification and reducing energy waste. Plus, as a modular system, it includes all the necessary components for quick and easy installation.

INNOVA’s AI engine learns individual comfort preferences, optimizes energy consumption, predicts maintenance needs, and enhances lifecycle operation for building owners, managers, and technicians.

Finally, Design Matters

HVAC systems should do more than just work, they should fit.

Architects and developers are no longer willing to treat mechanical systems as an afterthought. They want solutions that integrate cleanly into the space, reduce mechanical footprint, and support the overall design vision.

The old trade-off between performance and aesthetics is fading. The consensus at CMPX was clear: Outdoor units don’t make sense anymore. They take up valuable space and can ruin the look of a modern building. That’s why we’ve moved the unit from the balcony and into the walls with our All-in-One Split Package systems.

There’s no reason outstanding performance can’t be aesthetically pleasing.

The Bottom Line

It’s time to shift the discussion from viewing HVAC as necessary equipment – without regard for aesthetics – to strategize about infrastructure. That means changing how we think:

  • Buildings should feel open, not cluttered by bulky equipment.
  • Technology should be invisible, not intrusive.
  • Sustainability should be the standard, not an optional upgrade.

The opportunity to rethink how we design, deliver, and experience indoor environments is right in front of us. At INNOVA, we’re excited to be part of that shift, and we’re here to help drive it forward.

Put simply, INNOVA is redefining how HVAC works: Making it smarter, more efficient, and better aligned with the buildings of tomorrow. Whether you’ve worked with us before or are discovering INNOVA for the first time, our goal is the same: build relationships and share a clear vision for where HVAC is heading.
