Boutique Design NY (BDNY), held at the Javits Center, brought together vendors offering high-end, boutique design products for luxury buildings. From stylish furniture to distinctive hotel room pieces, the show floor reflected innovation and elevated aesthetics. Sustainability was a consistent theme, with many exhibitors highlighting recyclable materials and environmentally conscious design approaches.

The Only HVAC Company at the Show
BDNY bridges multiple disciplines — from interior design to engineering. For the second consecutive year, Ephoca was the only exhibitor presenting HVAC units at the show.
The booth drew strong interest from hoteliers, designers, architects, developers, and other industry professionals. While HVAC is not traditionally featured at design-forward events, its presence at BDNY underscored an important message: mechanical systems are no longer just functional necessities — they are part of the design conversation.

What Visitors Took Away
Guests who visited the Ephoca booth left with several key insights:
Ephoca is a leader in design-driven HVAC.
With more than 20 years of experience combining design, efficiency, and superior quality, Ephoca continues to redefine expectations for in-room comfort systems.
HVAC cannot be overlooked in hotel renovations.
Hotels invest heavily in finishes, furnishings, and guest-facing aesthetics — yet the system guests physically feel every day is the HVAC unit. Comfort is not optional; it defines the experience.
Exposed and proud.
The outdated perception of PTAC units as unavoidable eyesores is shifting. Many designers expressed openness to exposed units — provided they are slim, visually refined, and quiet. Ephoca units are intentionally engineered to complement a room’s décor rather than be concealed. Crafted from paintable metals and tailored to integrate seamlessly into the space, they support the overall design vision.
A breath of fresh air.
Design professionals frequently described Ephoca’s presence at BDNY as refreshing — a welcome alternative to traditional mechanical offerings that often conflict with aesthetic priorities.
By the close of the event, it was clear that Ephoca’s approach resonates with the hospitality design community. The units deliver what hotels require: low maintenance, reliable performance, sleek aesthetics, and energy efficiency. These features may go unnoticed by guests — as they should — while remaining deeply valued by designers and operators.

If It’s Good Enough for Luxury Apartments, It’s Good Enough for Hotels
Luxury residential apartment buildings throughout New York City continue to incorporate Ephoca units into both new construction and renovation projects.
The model is proven in high-end residential environments. The hospitality industry is taking note.
Ephoca will be attending additional expos and industry events throughout the year, continuing the conversation around design-forward, all-electric HVAC solutions for hospitality and luxury residential spaces. We’d love to meet you in person, walk you through our units, and show you why designers are rethinking what HVAC can look (and feel) like.
