Case Studies & Success Stories
The SOMM Hotel & Spa, Autograph Collection chose INNOVA’s decentralized, ERV-integrated HVAC over VRF, preserving a grille-less façade while reducing installation cost, mechanical space, and exterior equipment.
Case Studies & Success Stories
Over an identical, independently monitored winter period, INNOVA’s PTHP delivered better comfort - a steadier, more even room temperature - at less than one quarter of the power consumed by an advanced competing cold-climate PTHP.
Emerging Trends & Innovation
Guest room HVAC is one of those decisions that quietly shapes a hotel’s entire reputation. Guests don’t leave reviews about your lobby’s HVAC system. They leave reviews about the one rattling next to their bed at 2 a.m. Thinking about renovating, retrofitting, or building from scratch? Here’s a breakdown of the real options on the table and what actually separates them.
System Performance & Efficiency
It’s a hot summer’s day, the central air system is cooling an entire floor, but a room is unoccupied. It seems intuitive: Close the vent in the empty room, and the conditioned air flow will be forced into the rooms and spaces actually in use. The logic appears sound. Engineering tells a different story.
Emerging Trends & Innovation
For over a century, we’ve accepted that AC means a loud, bulky outdoor box with an equally unappealing indoor unit. We’re so used to the constant hum outside our windows, and condenser-crowded balconies that it’s become literal and figurative background noise. They’re just there, and we rarely complain.
Indoor Air Quality & Ventilation
Humans have a biological need for fresh, oxygen-rich air. It sharpens our mind, supports our respiratory systems, and even helps us sleep better. Stale air makes us feel foggy and tired. Spending hours upon hours indoors, it's worth asking ourselves: Is our air quality as good as it should be?
Emerging Trends & Innovation
As buildings move toward electrification, lower energy consumption, and quieter indoor comfort, water-source heat pumps (WSHPs) are becoming one of the most compelling HVAC solutions available today.
Emerging Trends & Innovation
Guests almost never rave about your HVAC system when it’s working perfectly. But they certainly remember when it’s not. It's time to stop treating comfort as an afterthought and start seeing it as a silent revenue driver. Guests sleep better, reviews improve, staff deal with fewer complaints, energy bills drop, and the entire operation runs smoother.
Past Events
As Canada’s premier event for mechanical systems professionals, CMPX 2026 attracts thousands of contractors, engineers, architects, and building owners seeking the latest technologies to meet evolving energy codes and design demands.
Case Studies & Success Stories
Picture an architect designing a premium residential skyscraper in the heart of New York City. Sweeping views. Floor-to-ceiling glass façades. Rooftop amenities. Open floor plans. The architectural dreams can only transform into reality when the engineers step in. They ensure that the dream can become a stable, safe reality. While both roles are essential, they serve very different parts of the same goals.
Indoor Air Quality & Ventilation
Most of us spend roughly a third of our lives in bed, and if you factor in how much time we spend indoors, then the bedroom stands out as the most personal and influential space in our daily lives.
Emerging Trends & Innovation
Architects, engineers and facility managers bear the responsibility for choosing HVAC units based on capacity and efficiency ratings. In reality, the numbers listed are often too-good-to-be true. At INNOVA we know that performance has to be a proven, verifiable fact, That's why select models in INNOVA's All-in-One (AIO) series carry industry-specific third party-verification.
Emerging Trends & Innovation
In high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects, aesthetics are non-negotiable. Yet traditional heat pumps and PTAC units often remain one of the last industrial holdouts - they tend to be bulky, utilitarian, and visually intrusive. Architects, designers, and developers frequently find themselves forced to conceal or compromise on these essential systems, detracting from carefully curated interiors.
Emerging Trends & Innovation
We often blame our fatigue on late-night scrolling or too much caffeine. But what if one of the biggest disruptors of our sleep isn’t our habits — it’s our buildings?
Emerging Trends & Innovation
Heating and cooling technology has come a long way, and PTAC (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner) systems stand out as a perfect example of that progress. Seen in nearly every hotel room for years, their design took a back-seat to their function. Today, they are high performing, energy-efficient solutions that suit not just hospitality, but can fit a a wide range of commercial and residential spaces.
Emerging Trends & Innovation
As electrification accelerates and heat pumps become a cornerstone of modern building design, the HVAC industry is experiencing a surge of new products entering the market. Verified performance data matters more than ever.
Indoor Air Quality & Ventilation
Overlooking your HVAC system is the most common and costly mistake a hotelier can make during a refresh. Renovations are a constant in hospitality. Fresh paint, new flooring, and upgraded fixtures are all essential to staying competitive. However, one upgrade almost always falls to the bottom of the list- the HVAC system.
Past Events
INNOVA (formerly Ephoca) recently participated in a series of industry conventions spanning Los Angeles, Denver, and New York, showcasing its next-generation HVAC units to design and building professionals across the country.
Emerging Trends & Innovation
Close relationships with distribution partners and industry professionals have driven INNOVA’s success in Canada. These partners understand the local market. Through their collaboration, INNOVA has established its products, gained insight into the unique demands of Canadian projects, and earned trust across the HVAC and building-design community.
Indoor Air Quality & Ventilation
For decades, PTAC units have been one of the most common - and most complained-about - elements of the hotel guest experience. Loud compressors, uneven temperatures, poor ventilation, and frequent service calls have become accepted frustrations in hospitality, even as hotels invest heavily in upgraded rooms, lobbies, and amenities.
